Frizzy Hair is synonymous with a dehydrated hair fibre and the hair takes on a dry, frayed and voluminous appearance. Hair that is not sufficiently hydrated seeks moisture from the environment, expanding the hair fibre, the hair cuticle rises and the moisture reaches the shaft causing the hair to swell. Hence, on rainy days or in humid environments the hair becomes more frizzy. Curly hair tends to frizz more often than straight or wavy hair because of its structure.

Although the weather is one of the most important factors, there are other influencing factors. Excessive use of dyes and bleaches can dry and damage the hair, the use of hairdryers and irons or washing with very hot water or not using the right products according to the type of hair can cause dehydration, increase porosity and damage the hair.
