Hair often breaks as it loses elasticity due to lack of moisture or loss of keratin. The hair becomes dull, porous and coarse and the hair becomes less dense and lifeless.
With age, hair loses density and becomes thinner and more fragile. Weak and Brittle Hair breaks easily and has a rough texture. It can affect any size and type of hair although long hair can be more affected.
The causes of hair breakage can be several: the use of poor quality hair dyes, bleaching, excessive abuse of high heat from hair dryers or irons, not using conditioner, poor brushing or an inadequate diet that can weaken the hair.
